It’s about a little boy diagnosed with Autism who entered my caseload completely unable to speak BUT boy was he able to communicate!
I remember one day, my grad student and I were baselining his ability to label pictures as we were in the process of writing his goals. I showed him a picture of a banana…
Well, this little boy, who had absolutely no ability to produce actual speech, looked at us, said “oo oo oo” while acting like a monkey then pretended to peel and eat a banana!
I looked at my grad student with my jaw on the floor, laughed and said, “That’s right. It’s a banana. A monkey eats a banana.” We all left the session smiling ear to ear!
Fast forward to about a year-and-a-half later... I had been teaching this little boy to talk using the Your Child Can Say Sounds hand cues and he was now a verbal communicator.
One day, his mom called me after his recent visit to his neurologist to tell me that because of the progress he had made in his ability to talk, his neurologist was now able to assess his true abilities in a much more accurate way.
***At that appointment, he removed this boy’s diagnosis of Autism and changed it to Apraxia of Speech with an associated Sensory Processing Disorder!***
I had suspected this was the case all along because he was so social and such a strong nonverbal communicator. I talked to his mom and assured her this is a very good thing! We both hung up the phone that day feeling happy.
By the time this boy left our program, he was speaking in sentences and cracking everyone up because he was finally able to express his amazing sense of humor!
This is the power that lies inside these hand cues. They truly can unlock a child’s potential to learn how to say speech sounds.
After purchasing the Your Child Can Say Sounds kits
I have a 24-year-old special needs child who is non-verbal. She does have vocalizations but no formal speech. At times, this causes her a lot of frustration and affects her behavior. Your techniques are teaching us how to help our child to learn to communicate.
It's like a guided map to helping her learn what to do to be more vocal and communicate in a way that is appropriate and safe for her.
Having completed your course and having the materials and your continued assistance, my child is vocalizing more sounds and responding to questions with more attempts to speak.
I believe with small, repeated steps and your structured speech program, my child will have the best opportunity to become a more verbal communicator. I thank you and truly appreciate all of your hard work and dedication to filling a need that I have not found anywhere else.

Along with her super positive attitude, dedication and patience, I have witnessed these hand cues to work with my non-verbal students! From rapport building, behavior managing and creatively meeting individual needs, Rebecca has made an impact on all students who have crossed her path.
Rebecca has also trained other support staff working with my class, and parents too! I highly recommend this online training so you can experience the effectiveness of Rebecca’s hand cues for yourself and help the children in your life the way she has helped so many!
— Jean B., Special Educator
Rebecca worked with my son who had very few words or sounds at age 2. Within weeks of introducing her program of hand signals, he started making new sounds and steadily forming new words.
It was like finding the key to a locked treasure chest. I used Rebecca's hand signal with my special needs students and got the same kind of results with them also.
The combination of the hand signals and sound cues helps children with communication delays to grasp and differentiate sounds that were too elusive to them before. I highly recommend Rebecca's program. You will get results with those children that are truly struggling to make progress.

I have used these hand cues in my therapy room for years and have seen child after child learn how to master their ability to say their speech sounds as a result.
The use of sight, sound, movement, and touch all working together to teach one individual skill ignites the brain to produce speech in a way that was elusive before. This whole body and sensory approach helps the child gain control over the muscles in their mouth resulting in the ability to say more and more sounds.
The videos inside the Your Child Can Say Sounds Kits will show you how to capitalize on your child’s newfound improvement in their ability to control their mouth by providing fun and easy suggestions for practice that your child will want to do over and over again.
Which is great news because repetition is the key to your child building the neural pathways necessary to produce speech so that saying sounds becomes easy and automatic.
Then you get to dip your toe in the water of the home speech protocol I teach in Nonverbal No More as the Your Child Can Say Sounds Kit teaches you the basics of how to take your child from learning how to say a sound to saying that sound in simple syllables and words.
How much time do I need to devote to this for it to work?
As with anything in life, you will get out of this program what you put in, so the more you implement the program and its strategies with your child, the better your results will be. However, I understand that life is busy so I recommend a minimum of 15-30 minutes 2-3 times per week of structured practice with your child and squeezing in extra informal practice during daily routines, such as bathtime. The more you use these hand cues throughout the day, both when you’re talking to your child and to prompt your child to say the sounds, the faster and better your child will be able to incorporate these sounds in their spontaneous speech. The instructional videos are about 20 minutes long and can be watched as you plan to target each new sound with your child.

I’m not a teacher or an SLP. Can I really do this program with my child?
Absolutely! Anyone has the ability to learn and implement these skills. All it takes is willingness, dedication and commitment. I have taught numerous special educators, paraprofessionals, parents, and even siblings over the years to successfully use these strategies. My teaching style is designed to be easy-to-implement by any parent no matter their training or experience.
Will this work for my child?
If you show up and do the work, you will see progress with your child. How much progress depends on how consistently you implement this process, and your individual child. Every child is unique and progresses in his/her own way. I CAN share that I've seen the benefits of these hand cues with the many kids I‘ve worked with over the past 15 years.
How do I access the course materials?
